Let’s get serious about the 2017 British Skittles Championship.
Are you ready to challenge the reigning champions for their crown?
We are thrilled to announce that Serious About Events are the sponsors for the British Skittles Championship. Each year skittlers from across the UK compete to chase the dream of being part of the winning team, lifting the silverware and being crowned Serious About British Skittles Champions.
There are three events, Men’s, Ladies and Mixed with a minimum eight players per team.
Entry is open to everyone. You don’t have to be a registered team or part of a league to take part, many form their own teams just for the Championships each year. Players can also compete in more than one event which is extremely popular.
By entering you can enjoy a fabulous summer of fantastic skittles, getting together with your mates, meeting new teams, playing on different alleys, visiting new places and even sampling new beers while all the time competing to be the best skittles team in Britain.

We know the British Championships are unmissable but don’t take our word for it ……
Sam Smith captain of Ladies' Champions, Arthur's Tarts from Glastonbury, said "I think we all stepped up a bit on the day. I can't believe how happy we are. We're on top of the World"
Carl Gaston, captain of Men's Champions, Glevum Old Spots from Gloucester, said "It was only our second time of entering the championships. We finished strongly in every game and didn't lose our nerve when it really counted. Just amazing!"
Graham Tranter, captain of the Mixed Champions, the Gladrags from Gloucester, said "Winning was fantastic. We'd been runners up and semi finalists in the past. This time we held our nerve and wone by just one pin."
Rob Parkhouse of the Loungers of Exeter, on interrupting his Spanish holiday for 24 hours to fly back especially for the finals, said "When we got through to the finals, I knew i had to get back somehow. I just couldn't possible miss this. It was definitely worth it". (Even though the Loungers didn't survive the group round.)
Matt Thompson, Men's Singles Winner said "The win last year was amazing, but reclaiming it was unbelievable. It's not quite sunk in yet. Once it does, i'm sure i'll be looking for a hat-trick next year!"
Chris Watts and Wayne Chapmen, Men's Pairs Winners said "It's such a great feeling. We had a feeling we were going to win something tonight. We both played for each other. We drew partners out of a hat but we think we're going to have to stick together for next year to defend our title"
Jill Thorne and Carole Kitt, Ladies Pairs Winners, said "We're in shock. This is our third year of entering and we were runners-up the year before last. We didn't think it would come down to one pin in the last rub. Amazing"
Corrine Morrissey and Paul Stewart, Mixed Pairs Winners were thrilled by the result"We were pretty hot in that final! It's been a brilliant day, just the BEST! It's taken three years to achieve and we finally did it!!"
