2023 and all that….
Well we finished our season in Torbay in fine style with that cracking weekend at the Derwent hotel in Torquay.
And then we thought …..might as well start as we mean to go on. So, our 2023 season begins with a fabulous weekend at the Derwent ‘s sister hotel, the Carlton on February 24. So if you haven’t been to Torquay before, you might want to give the Carlton a twirl next time you come away with us. It’s just a short stroll from the beach and some sensational views of Tor Bay.
Sharing all the fab facilities with the Derwent, and very popular with those teams who want a smaller event, we provide three alleys for 12 teams. Even though Torquay has a bit of a micro climate going on hence all the palm trees, February might be a bit nippy for a dip in the briny or the outdoor pool, but there is a sensational indoor pool to enjoy plus jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. And while we’re on the subject of relaxing, the Aztec Spa offers a range of luxurious treatments as well as it’s acclaimed Fire and Ice experience, guaranteed to awaken your senses and get that ball whizzing down the alley.
If you’d rather be a bit busier, then the 40 workstation gym and games room will definitely appeal. Carlton guests love the Saturday brunch, the perfect way to start the day. And if you’re missing a real pub atmosphere, Alberts Bar is right on your doorstep showing all the major sports events – apart from your skittles matches!!
We’re there again for the weekend of March 10 – so if you like your skittles competition a little smaller and extra friendly, then we highly recommend a great weekend away at the Carlton.
