New Year is a funny old time, isn’t it.  In pre-Covid times, from my experience, a few friends would say the previous year had been good, but most say ‘roll on next year and good riddance to the last one’.  It’s quite difficult to go a full 12 months without some happening that takes the

Third time lucky for Dumplings….

Well, we were back at the Carlton Hotel in Torquay for another fabulous weekend in early December.  It was a very Christmassy affair with lots of elves, santas and Christmas trees amongst the fantastic fancy dress outfits on the Saturday party night.. Also we were able to witness history in the making.  The Studley Dumplings
There’s a first time for everything … What are they talking about?  Our fabulous weekend at the Carlton Hotel in Torquay in earlier in November.    It’s strictly adults only – leave the kids, grandkids and even  the great grandkids behind. Drum Roll please for The Saints who came marching in from Exeter and grabbed the trophy with an impressive 437 points. Saints’ Simon Albinson was the highest male scorer, meanwhile Beth Ricketts from their sister team the Sinners was highest female scorer with 68.  Sinners also claimed fourth place in the competition.
