Those of you who came away with us last Autumn after all those endless lockdowns, have been clamouring for more Autumn fun. So – we want to tell you about this brand new exciting skittles event we have launched especially for Autumn 2023!
What’s included
It’s a Singles and Pairs weekend – a total skittles indulgence, giving everyone the opportunity to compete in singles, pairs and mixed competitions over a weekend. So you’re guaranteed plenty of matches!
We have secured the weekend of 29th September at the fabulous Derwent Hotel in Torquay. Our amazing price includes two nights’ accommodation at the hotel, meals, evening live entertainment plus of course entry to the skittles competition. So everything is organised under one roof.
This is a self-drive event so you will need to plan your journey to be with us by lunchtime on Friday 29th September We’ll kick off at 2 pm with the mixed pairs competition, reaching the quarter final stages that evening. Then on Saturday, after a yummy brunch, the early rounds begin of the singles, men’s and ladies’ pairs of the competition, again reaching the quarter final stage. After breakfast on Sunday, it’s all eyes on the alleys for all the semi finals and finals! Oh, and we’ll round off your weekend with a full Sunday roast.
On both evenings after the skittling and dining, we’ll have live music for dancing. On Saturday night and we invite you to dress to impress! Whether it’s your red carpet outfit, fancy dress or your favourite jeans, just make sure you pack those boogie shoes.
The Venue
The Derwent boasts a range of fantastic facilities, including a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, huge games room, gym and even a sports pub. Come as a group, come with mates, bring your partner or come on your own. Bring your entire skittles team if they’re up for it. We’ll pair everyone up to ensure you all get to compete in all three categories. If you want to come along but not compete that’s fine too – every skittler loves a bit of support on the alleys. If you’re coming with a big gang, then talk to us about arranging transport.
Numbers will be limited and we anticipate demand will be high. So bag your place and give yourself a treat next Autumn.
