You had to be there.  Of course you did, but for those of you who weren’t, here’s the lowdown on what you missed.  For those of you who were, here are some more happy memories of a cracking weekend.  The standard of play and sportsmanship were beyond awesome, as was the singing and chanting.

Hats off to the Buccaneers from Trowbridge, who won the team event with an awesome 371 score, on their very first time away on tour.  But it was close, so close that the Ugandan Yankers from Weston-super-Mare were just six ponts behind. The team claimed another piece of silver with Dave Wilmott claiming the highest scoring man on 73 points.  And a big shout out too to Ceri Lambeth of Norfolk ‘n’ Chance who was presented with the cup for the highest scoring lady with 60 points.

Special mention too goes to Kate Dean from Weston-super-Mare who took home two trophies.  She was part of the winning ladies pairs team and runner up in the mixed pairs.

Meanwhile in the singles and pairs competitions, Donna James from Taunton took the ladies singles title on 36 with Maxine Hares from Somerton just four points behind. The men’s winner was Tony Powell from Berkeley on 44 with Chris Foster from Poole again just four points behind.

And in the pairs competitions, mixed winners were Stacey Drew and Alex Norgett from Chippenham on 74, with Kate and Phil Dean from Weston-super-Mare on 63.

The women’s pairs were a triumph for Kate Dean and Mags Dobson from Weston-super-Mare and Cardiff.  They were paired up just for the event and what a partnership it turned out to be.  They lifted their trophy having notched up 74 points.  Runners up were Alison Dunne and Ellen Sealey from Berkeley with 65.  Congratulations girls! And finally a mega score of 86 saw the men’s pairs title go to Dave Williams and Keith Hutchings from Chippenham.  Runners up were Pete Luther and Mike Jeans from Poole on 71.
