Once again Granny Cornish’s Shorts won our Sand Bay tournament in Weston-super-Mare, storming past a field of 40 teams from Wales, the Midlands and south west of England.  They racked up 456 points in the final beating Poshtits from Berkeley by 28 pins.

Meanwhile in Bideford there was another big win.  The Renegades from Redditch took the competition by storm finishing on 453, 31 points ahead of the opposition.  Well done to the team and particularly to Tim Jones who also took home the Highest Scoring man trophy with 60 points.  The Pinbusters from Radstock were runners up with their team mate Jane Brimble notching up 59 points to win the Highest Scoring woman trophy.

And the final winners of our season were the magnificent Windsor B team from Caerphilly in a close final at the Derwent Hotel in Torquay.  The competition attracted 32 teams from Wales, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bristol and Gloucestershire where a cracking weekend was had by all.  Windsor B took home two trophies, the winners’ trophy thanks to 410 points and team mate Euan Greenhaf scored 61 points to collect the Highest Scoring Man trophy.

But it was all so very close.  Runners up the Seven Bores from Frampton on Severn were just 6 points behind on 404 and their team mate Caroline Clements won the Highest scoring lady on 55.
