Hitting the high notes with some of our fabulous singers
We thought it was time – well actually long overdue – to spotlight some of the amazing bands and singers we book for your weekend entertainment. So this month we’re focussing on two singers. Roy G Hemmings is ABSOLUTELY THE go-to Motown singer and the amazing Debbie Farrell is SOUGHT AFTER for her tribute Shirley Bassey numbers.
Did you know that Debbie has appeared as Shirley on TV’s Stars in Their Eyes? No? Well look her up on Youtube. Her fantastic voice and stage presence have taken her around the globe, singing at corporate events, on cruise ships, in the finest hotels. She’s first choice at any Bond Theme Nights, casino nights and balls.
Along the way she has appeared with alongside many famous names including Lenny Henry, Shane Ritchie, Bobby Davro, the Drifters and Cliff Richard.
Meanwhile Roy G Hemmings simply embodies the fabulous era of Motown music. Born in (Montego Bay yesssssss!!) his family moved from the USA to Europe, thank goodness. Their loss, our gain. Here he’s a long-established singer/songwriter with four decades of singing under his belt, performing everywhere from the White House for then president Bill Clinton to Royal Variety Shows in London. His fabulous voice spans everything from Otis Redding to James Brown and the Four Tops with everything in between.
